In a tremendously well organised GORC Park the Under 15 lads got off to a very flat start, losing the first quarter 1-0. The Metros didn't seem to be able to put the ball in the goal, a suprise to the coaches having just watched a shooting competition between the 2 teams, players like Jake Howarth clocking as high as 79mph. As the game progressed Marcus Ridings was exceptional at the face off x, eventually winning 8 out of 11 draws. Darren Howard, who would win “offensive” man of the match from GORC scored his first 2 shots with impressive calm in front of goal.

Despite some good individual performances the boys continued to play without the heart the coaches had seen in other games, not bothering to recover to defence and often giving up scrappy goals in a game that could have been easily won. While the defensive unit held the other team to just 6 goals the lads failed to score more than 4 in a game where they held plenty of possession.

Stern words followed the game, and the tone was set for the Friendship game – which would be the boys last chance to play the way they knew they could.
