Very hot game at GORC for our penultimate game. With temperatures of 95 degrees Fahrenheit Metros went down 14-5, with us only coming alive in the last five minutes. At only 2-1 down in the first quarter with us not really getting into the game it looked optimistic. Half time saw us down 6-1 and 11-2 at 3/4 time. The final quarter was 3-3 with a flurry of shots and goals in the last five minutes. 15 shots in total. Goals from Chapman, Russell, Baythorpe, Robinson and Miller. Ridings got the MVP from GORC. Another very impressive performance from both of our goalies at 7 and 8 saves per half, difficult to separate the 2 players throughout the tournament.

 

A good crowd in the heat with excellent hospitality from the GORC club. Excellent performance from Russell and Bullock as usual. Bullock was eventually moved to defence by the coaches and performed well. The coaches have a difficult decision to make during the friendship game at the end of the tour; when choosing the player for the 'Les Grainger' Award as there are several worthy contenders.

 

Lynn, Edward has arrived and we are going to New York tomorrow. Will be thinking of you in the big city.
