The Friendship game at the splendid Annapolis High School Stadium lived up to our very high expectations with the Metros team playing their best ever game.

With the injured Will Donavan having to sit out, Jack Burke stepped up to play the whole game with an amazing 19 saves. Metros went down 3-0 in the 1st quarter but had plenty of possession. At half time we pulled back 2 goals leaving the score at 5-2. The third quarter we pulled back a further 2 goals and only conceded 1.

The final quarter was also very close as the Metros picked up a number of injuries from heavy checks, Miller, Baythorpe, Parker and Ridings having to spend time on the bench for treatments.

Metros had 10 shots and our scorers were Hackett, Russell, Ridings and Baythorpe who all had excellent games as usual. Other outstanding performances came from Robinson, Cole and Jordan.

All parents should feel very proud of all the players who have competed well throughout the tour in difficult very hot conditions. Coaches are now conferring on whom to give the 'Les Grainger Award'.

See you all back in sunny England. Love to my wife as usual.

Coach Dolan
